Big Brother's Nadia Almada shares sad reason she quit fame ahead of TV comeback

Big Brother legend Nadia Almada is preparing to return to the spotlight almost a decade on from winning the iconic reality TV series.

Portuguese-born Nadia, 46, has spent the last 10 years working as a hairdresser but is ready to make a return to our screens once again.

The first transwoman to win Big Brother admits she has an OnlyFans profile set up but is yet to post on the subscription-only site - teasing she may be willing to share some snaps of her feet for the right price.

Nadia explains how she is happy with her private life and current career, but points out how opportunities presented to cisgender reality TV stars didn't come her way back in the day.

The popular star captured the nation's hearts in 2004, when she competed in - and won - the fifth series of Big Brother on Channel 4. Nadia didn't reveal her transgender identity to her fellow housemates during her 71 days in the famous house.

Despite winning the £63,500 cash prize thanks to securing a whopping 74% of the overall final public vote, Nadia says "after the show ended, I got work and money was made of course but in those days, as a trans woman, I didn't have the same opportunities."

"Jade Goody, for example, made millions out of Big Brother with her own perfume and magazine deals and that was amazing, but when a brand wanted someone to advertise a new hair product or something, they wouldn't come to a trans woman to be the face of that. They wanted to appeal to the masses," Nadia says.

She continues to explain how when showbiz work began to dwindle, a career in hairdressing was there to save her - training as a hair stylist with Vidal Sasoon.

Although Nadia is "very happy" working in the beauty industry with her private clients and enjoys "the quiet life away from fame", she wouldn't say no to a return to reality TV - expressing an interest in appearing on I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! or "that middle-aged Love Island show" in the future.

The iconic star also has plans to make some additional income from OnlyFans - the adults-only site that has made Kerry Katona a millionaire.

"I have an OnlyFans but I don't have anything on it at the moment," she reveals. "I need to put some effort into it. Maybe I will post some pictures of my feet and toes, there is a market for that," she tells The Sun.

"I wouldn't go fully nude, but I would shower in my heels on there, as that's what everyone remembers me for and of course I still do that!"

Nadia is keen to show off her new look to fans on the site, after recently having "a lot of gender-affirming surgery" on her face because "I am a lady of a certain age."
