Top soap star arrested on suspicion of rape after 'attack on young woman'
A top soap actor has allegedly raped a woman in her 20s after meeting her at party.
The household soap actor, also in his 20s, has been bailed as police officers continue to investigate the alleged incident which happened in a residential property in South London.
Police have spoken to the alleged victim and have offered the young woman specialist support as officers investigate the allegation.
The alleged incident was reported to have taken place on December 20 last year.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson has confirmed that a man was arrested on suspicion of rape and subsequently bailed until April.

Detectives are continuing to investigate the allegation and will look towards building a case for the Crown Prosecution Service if the investigation progresses.
The Metropolitan Police told the Mirror: "Police are investigating after a woman in her 20s reported she was raped while at a residential address in the Southwark area on 30 December 2022.
"Specially trained officers continue to offer support to the victim. A 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of rape and has been bailed until a date in April. Enquiries continue."
No charges have been brought and investigations continue.
A TV source has claimed the top soap actor was taken in for questioning when the accusation was made.
They said: "This has sent shockwaves through the soap he works on. It has left people reeling. It’s a very serious allegation."
"They apparently met earlier that night at a party," the source added to The Sun.
It's understood that the Met Police interviewed the top soap actor for several hours in connection with the allegation.
The actor is reported to be a familiar face instantly recognisable to soap fans across the country.
