Gary Glitter 'treated like royalty' in bail hostel and gets 'meals delivered'
Gary Glitter is being "treated like royalty" in the bail hostel where he is staying after his release from prison, it has been reported.
The disgraced pop star, who had a string of chart hits in the 1970s, was jailed in 2015 for sexually abusing three schoolgirls.
Glitter, whose real name is Paul Gadd, left HMP The Verne - a low-security category C jail in Portland, Dorset - on Friday after eight years behind bars.
The 78-year-old was moved to a bail hostel in a suburban area behind electric gates - and staff have been delivering food to his room.
The bail hostel, which has a garden with football posts, a gym and a smoking area, is reportedly near 10 different schools.

The source added that he is "upbeat" and in order to get a chance to be released from the bail hostel in the south of England, he will need to keep interacting with other people - which he is said to be doing.
"He won't be going anywhere outside for a few days yet. Other people did not get escorted in here and treated like royalty the way he was. It's caused a bit of upset and resentment," a source told Mail Online.
Another source claimed that Glitter showed "he wasn't interested" in prison sex offender treatment programmes ahead of his release.

The pair who saw Glitter arrive on Friday said: "We've seen him a few times but he's having his meals brought to his room and has stayed there all day."
They added: "It's definitely him – he's still got the grey hair and goatee beard."
Hours later, vigilantes turned up at the bail hostel and tried to scale the gates before security intervened and dialled 999.

Glitter was driven out of the category C prison after serving half his 16-year sentence.
He will have to wear a tag and flag any relationships he has with people who have a child under the age of 18.
Glitter was was at the height of his fame when he preyed on his vulnerable victims who thought no one would believe their claims over that of a celebrity.
The allegations only came to light nearly 40 years later when Glitter became the first person to be arrested under Operation Yewtree - the investigation launched by the Metropolitan Police in the wake of the Jimmy Savile scandal.
Sentencing the singer, Judge Alistair McCreath said all the victims were "profoundly affected" by the abuse.
He said it was "difficult to overstate the gravity of this dreadful behaviour" when referring to the assault on one victim, telling Glitter he was able to attack another "only" because of his fame.

He later lost a Court of Appeal challenge against his conviction.
Glitter's fall from grace occurred years earlier after he admitted possessing 4,000 child pornography images and was jailed for four months in 1999.
In 2002, he was expelled from Cambodia amid reports of sex crime allegations, and in March 2006 he was convicted of sexually abusing two girls, aged 10 and 11, in Vietnam and spent two-and-a-half years in jail.
