Tesco shoppers were left in hysterics after a store worker decided to spice up the supermarket's closing announcement.

Nathan Lorenzo told shoppers in a tannoy announcement that the store was closing in 10 minutes - but it was done in such a hilarious way the video has almost three million views on TikTok.

The employee even ignored his manager while carrying out the act of genius, My London reports.

In the video, Nathan says: "Good evening my pumpkins.

"It's yours truly and this is a customer announcement. Now don't go shooting the messenger but I do have some awful news I have to inform you on.

"Where you will be served by the fabulous Sean. I hope you all have a lovely evening and thank you, once again, for shopping with us today at Tesco."

At one point in the video, the worker's manager can be heard shouting "Nathan!" but Nathan disregards him.

During the announcement, shoppers can be heard laughing in the background, although the manager appears to be annoyed, and at one point says: "Err no."

After the video was posted on TikTok, some people took to the comments to stand up for Nathan and praise him for being "brilliant".

One person said: "What does he mean 'err no'? You did it better than anyone else I've ever heard."

Another commented: "Tesco you need to give him a raise and tell that manager to lighten up because if I heard this on the tannoy it would make my day."

A third wrote: "Tesco should be proud to have such a brilliant employee.

"You bring brightness into this robotic and scary world."
