When picking a skincare collection to really fall back on when our skin is dull and in need of a flush of hydration and rejuvenation- it can be quite tricky to pick what products work best for you.

When trialling the best brands and ingredients, more often than not we see massive potential in the more affordable price brackets, it's absolutely worth having a shop around for a skincare range suitable for you (which isn't always necessarily the more expensive options). We found the new M&S Fresh Elements Skincare Range and automatically knew we were in for a treat- you can rely on M&S for most products being relatively more luxurious products at a great retail price.

We distributed the collection to adhere to our individual needs and made sure we all had products to suit our skin types, and here's what we found.

I didn’t realise quite how dull my skin was until I used the Powered by Vitamin C, it promises to help brighten ‘even the most lacklustre complexion’ with a near-complete skin routine that leaves my face feeling summer-ready. I tried six of seven products out of the range - the cleanser has already proven so popular that it’s not available to buy at the moment, but after trialling the rest of the collection, I’ll be the first in line as soon as it’s back in stock.

Each of the products have a number on them so that you know exactly which order to use them in., so I went straight in with the which comes in at a purse-friendly £8.50. The glow-boosting tonic rivals the likes of Pixi Glow and Skin Proud for less, however, the pump-action dispenser can take some getting used to.

Post-toner, I tried out the (£9.50), but this felt a bit too abrasive and had me worried for my skin barrier. It’s gentle enough, but I’ll likely be using it sparingly in my weekly routines. The is dreamy, with a light texture that meant one pump was enough to cover my whole face - it was at this point that I really started to see my skin start to glow.

The is a rich and velvety moisturiser that feels more luxe than its £12.50 price tag would suggest. The same can be said for the , which immediately depuffed my undereyes and disguised my dark circles by giving them a big drink of hyaluronic acid.

In the mornings, the complete with SPF, is the ultimate way to start the day, combining skincare with sun protectant. The only issue I have with this moisturiser is that it has got a bit of a suncream feel to it, and takes a bit of work to massage in without looking streaky.

After using the products in conjunction with one another, my skin looked and felt a lot smoother, giving me a really dewy finish that’s perfect for summer and those makeup free days.

Having combination skin, some areas feel and look drier than I’d like - especially under makeup. Then add in ‘skincycling’ of acids and retinol that I’m currently using, and my skin isn’t looking it’s best. Thankfully the new Fresh Elements Hydrate+ range from Marks and Spencer has really helped with that.

One product that has completely blown me away is The Non-Stop Dew Drops Ultra-Lightweight Facial Oil - it’s like nothing I’ve ever felt on my face before. It absorbed almost immediately and felt incredibly hydrated - not to mention my skin didn’t look or feel oily, which is always a downfall when using products like that, especially in the heat and transferring onto pillows or causing my makeup to slide off.

As for the High Life Hydrating Daily Serum? Wow. It smells unreal - almost like cucumber, much like the rest of the range, and my skin felt so hydrated and soft. Best of all? I didn’t feel like my skin was weighed down with heavy, yet hydrating products.

The Feeling Pristine Soothing Micellar Water also felt glorious on my skin, especially when removing mascara as I often find some products can sting or feel like they are burning.

My skin looked better than ever after using the Yes You Dew Refreshing Overnight Mask and Soak Star Overnight Moisture Cream - and those dry areas around my cheeks didn’t look flakey like usual when I wake up first thing or after washing my face.
