American Idol star's husband Kyle Jacobs shoots himself dead in tragic suicide
Singer Kellie Pickler's husband Kyle Jacobs has died by suicide, police have confirmed.
The Nashville Police Department have released a statement where they said Kyle died at the age of 49 after tragically shooting himself at home.
On Friday afternoon, Nashville's Department of Emergency Communications received a 911 call at 1:21 p.m. on from a home on Sneed Road, Nashville.
A representative from Nashville Police Department said: "Officers and Nashville Fire Department personnel responded and located resident Kyle Jacobs, 49, deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound in an upstairs bedroom/office."
Cops said Kellie had been asleep but awoke a short time before the incident and when she did not see Kyle began to look at him. After being unable to open a locked bedroom door, Kellie and her assistant called 911.

The pair didn't have any children (Invision/AP/REX/Shutterstock)Kellie and Kyle married in 2011 and starred on I Love Kellie Pickler together for three seasons.
Kylie is also known for his work as a country music songwriter, having penned hits for the likes of Tim McGraw, Kelly Clarkson and Garth Brooks.
He co-wrote Garth Brooks' song More Than a Memory as well as being a co-songwriter on Kimberley Locke's single, 8th World Wonder.
Jacobs took to his Instagram page last Thursday where he posted about an album he worked on, Lee Brice's Hey World that became certified platinum.
He wrote: "Platinum?! SWEEET!!! An amazing crew of incredibly talented peeps put this one together... Deeply honored to be a creative part of it. Thank you Jesus!!!"

In 2014, Kellie opened up to ABC News about their marriage.
"I love my husband, but I actually like him too," she said. "We actually really like each other. We are doing great, can't complain in that department."
The pair did not have any children together.
Pickler found fame after placing sixth on Season 5 of American Idol back in 2006.
However, she still went on to have a fairly successful country career of her own off the back of this.
She currently hosts SiriusXM's The Highway radio show throughout the week.
