Brit motorcyclist dies after plunging down 1,600ft gorge during holiday
A British tourist has died after his motorcycle plunged 1,600ft off the edge of a cliff into a gorge in India, it has been reported.
The unnamed Briton was on an epic road trip as part of an eight-man motorbike tour to the tribal Kinnaur district in Himachal Pradesh, the northernmost state of India and home to the Himalayan mountains.
It is alleged the tourist lost control of his motorbike after hitting a stone in the road and then veered off track and tragically plunged to his death.
A member of the search and rescue team told Indian newspapers that rescuers and members of the local police force from Reckong Peo town descended from the cliffs into the gorge and extracted the man's body.

In 2018, two Brits died in a horrific crash on a dream holiday in India just before Christmas.
Hannah Whitley, 23, and Daniel John, 38, were on a sight-seeing tour riding on a motorbike when they hit a truck head-on on December 22 at Canacona in Goa.
Friends and family of Ms Whitley, from Cheadle, Greater Manchester, paid tribute to her on social media, the Manchester Evening News reports.
On Christmas Day, friend John Broderick wrote: “Our thoughts and prayers are with little Han, her parents and family at this heartbreaking time, a beautiful girl taken too soon who touched so many lives, whose creativity and brilliance is only surpassed by her beauty, charm and wit.”
Thanking people for their support, he added: “If you, like us had observed these two free spirits, soul sisters enjoying life on their adventures in India sharing, liking posts getting little messages, via text, face time, WhatsApp or whatever WiFi they could get on.
