Body found in mountains where A Room With A View star Julian Sands went missing
Human remains have been discovered on the mountain where actor Julian Sands went missing back in January.
The British actor went missing a week after his 65th birthday while hiking in Mount Baldy, California, in the San Gabriel Mountains northeast of Los Angeles.
Julian - who starred in films including A Room With A View, Leaving Las Vegas and Warlock - was an experienced mountaineer and early searches for him were hindered due to bad weather.
Since then, there have been eight official search parties sent out to find him, involving over 500 volunteers - and now hikers have uncovered human remains in the Southern California mountain area where the actor disappeared.

While another statement added: “The remains have been transported to the Coroner's Office, pending positive identification.”
The latest update comes just hours after Julian’s family had released a statement saying they were continuing to keep him "in our hearts with bright memories".
"We are deeply grateful to the search teams and co-ordinators who have worked tirelessly to find Julian," a family statement, issued on Wednesday by the sheriff's department, read.

A spokesperson for the sheriff's department previously said its goal was "to bring closure" to Sands' family as they continued their search to find him.
Around the time of his disappearance, Julian was believed to be travelling across the Baldy Bowl Trail, "which climbs 3,900 feet (1,200 m) over 4.5 miles (7.2 km) to the highest summit in the San Gabriel Mountains"
Search teams had been able to use data linked to Julian’s mobile phone to help with their search, however, it stopped sending ‘pings’ on January 15, two days after his disappearance, and it was assumed it had run out of battery.
His car was found on 18 January as the searches continued amid stormy weather that had a risk of causing landslides which hindered the search.
At the end of January, Julian’s brother Nick Sands was quoted by the BBC as saying: "I have come to terms with the fact he's gone and for me that's how I've dealt with it."
Julian is married to journalist Evgenia Citkowitz and the couple share three adult children together.
