Everton have confirmed Bill Kenwright will remain as the club's chairman amid a huge boardroom reshuffle at Goodison Park.

Chief Executive Officer, Denise Barrett-Baxendale, Chief Finance and Strategy Officer Grant Ingles and Non-Executive Director Graeme Sharp have all already left their roles with the Toffees after a dreadful campaign. The club were sucked into a relegation battle under Frank Lampard's management.

They secured their survival on the final day of the campaign after Sean Dyche was brought in to save the team, a task he just about achieved. Now attention is turning on how to prevent another campaign of struggle for Dyche's men.

That led to the changes that were announced 11 days ago, but Everton fans have also been pushing for Kenwright to follow Barrett-Baxendale, Ingles and Sharp out the door. They have been left disappointed though, with the Toffees confirming on Friday that Kenwright will remain in his post.

A club statement read: "Further to the announcement on Monday 12 June, Everton Football Club today provides an update on the Board and management roles.

"Everton is pleased to announce the appointment of Colin Chong as interim Chief Executive Officer and Director. Colin is currently the Chief Stadium Development Officer and has been focused on the delivery of the transformational new Everton Stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock.

"In addition, he has been responsible for the operational management of the Club's business headquarters at the Royal Liver Building. James Maryniak, currently Director of Finance, will take charge of all finance matters as interim Chief Finance Officer.

"Everton is also pleased to announce the proposed addition of two Non-Executive Directors to the Board, subject to normal Premier League approvals. Our majority shareholder Mr Farhad Moshiri will join the Board alongside Mr John Spellman, an experienced Chartered Accountant, successful businessman and Evertonian."

Moshiri's time as owner has not gone as planned, with a huge outlay on players not translating into results. Despite that, the Iranian insisted he wanted Kenwright to remain at Goodison.

“I wanted Bill to remain as our Chairman during this important period of transition for the Club and I am delighted that he has accepted my request to do so," Moshiri said.

"Bill’s knowledge and vast experience will be crucial for us as we look to reset, deliver on external investment and position Everton for a successful future.

“In John, we have an experienced finance professional who has held Chief Executive and senior finance roles for international firms and I welcome him to the Club.

“In Colin and James, we have two experienced senior Club professionals who have agreed to take on enhanced roles on an interim basis, and who we know can and will deliver immediately.”
