XDefiant Twitch Drops carry over to the main game

Ubisoft is opening up its next XDefiant beta to everyone today, and while you can't carry progress over to the main game when it launches later this summer, you can carry over the Twitch Drops weapons skins so it's worth getting your hands on them.

XDefiant is releasing this summer, and ahead of the game's launch Ubisoft is holding an open beta that goes live today for players on PS5, Xbox Series X and PC. Just like the closed beta, the XDefiant open beta is only for gamers on current-gen console despite the full game being available on PS4 and Xbox One.

On that note, the XDefiant preload and early access is available to those of you participated in the closed beta; everyone else has to wait until 6pm BST / 1pm EDT / 10am PDT today. Once you're in, you can unlock a couple of weapon skins that will carry over to the main game, even though your progress doesn't.

The XDefiant Twitch Drop program is available will be live throughout the Open Session – and early access, so you've had the chance to unlock the drops already. Both the skins can be earned by spending the requisite time watching specific Twitch partners, and the list of them is extensive so it's likely that your favourite streamer may be among them.

Free items in XDefiant Twitch Drops

There are two exclusive weapon skins available as a part of the XDefiant Twitch Drops program. These weapon skins are as follows:

• M870 'Violet' Weapon Skin

• M249 'Violet' Weapon Skin

You'll be able to access these in the XDefiant open beta, but don't worry about that time going to waste as Ubisoft has confirmed that the skins will carry over into the full game when XDefiant launches later this summer.

How to get XDefiant Twitch Drops

To get the XDefiant Twitch Drops you'll first need to link your Twitch account to your Ubisoft account. The follow these steps:

• Head onto the XDefiant game page on Twitch
• Look for streams tagged with drops enabled (Ubisoft has the full list of partners on it's website )
• Watch a stream for one hour to get the M870 'Violet' Weapon Skin
• Watch a stream for two hours to get the M249 'Violet' Weapon Skin
• Claim them in your Twitch drops locker

And that's how easy it is! You can stick on the stream in the background or have a more involved watch, but as long as you stick around for an hour or two – depending on which skin you want and your patience – you'll have both XDefiant Twitch Drops unlocked in no time.
