Prue Leith on working with Alison Hammond on Bake Off amid This Morning chaos
Prue Leith has lifted the lid on what it has been like working with Alison Hammond on the set of The Great British Bake Off amid the recent drama that engulfed This Morning.
The 83-year-old baking expert has been delighted to be joined by another female presence on the set of the hit Channel 4 show after the past three seasons saw her on the panel as the only woman.
Alison, 48, has joined the show as a presenter - replacing Matt Lucas who featured as a host from 2020 until 2022.
And Alison has joined the show in the weeks surrounding the professional demise of Phillip Schofield who saw his career go up in flames after he confessed he had lied about having an affair with a much younger male This Morning employee while married to his wife.
Prue Leith has opened up about her experience of working with Alison Hammond on The Great British Bake Off (Channel 4)Speaking to The Sun on Sunday, Prue says she has enjoyed working with Alison on Bake Off and that the pair are balancing out the laddish banter that used to exist between Matt, co-host Noel Fielding and fellow judge Paul Hollywood.

She said: “I’m just glad to have another woman there because I’ll tell you what, those three men together, half the time I didn’t get the jokes because I never get innuendos.
“A word like sausage would set them off.”
And while Alison could have been feeling under pressure going to the Channel 4 show while This Morning has been pulled under the microscope among accusations of a ‘toxic’ work environment, Prue says she has been nothing but a delight.

Last month, This Morning was thrown into chaos when 61-year-old Phillip Schofield quit the show after his affair with a junior male staff member was exposed to the public.
He later severed all ties with ITV and his management company when he admitted he lied about the affair.

Remaining co-host Holly Willoughby has been under fire after addressing the scandal live on air with an oddly scripted explanation about Phil’s abrupt exit.
She has claimed that she was lied to by Phil as well - while Phil himself has also publicly said he mislead his co-star too.
