With over 3.1 million monthly listeners on Spotify and recognition from several BBC radio stations, Rhys Lewis is the big name in music to look out for in 2023.

The Oxfordshire-born singer-songwriter, 29, is currently on tour with his second album, Corner Of The Sky, and the talented musician literally sent shivers down spines during the London leg at the iconic venue, Lafayette.

The spine-tingling performances from Lewis perfectly showcased his undeniable vocal talent – which was most successfully highlighted in songs Yesterday’s Rain and The Middle - two thought-provoking tunes surrounding the complexity of modern life, and the stresses and endless anxiety that come with it.

Lewis' poetic lived experiences, heartbreak, and bitter-sweet perspective of modern-day love and life radiate through his skilfully-written and nostalgic lyrics.

Written as an escape from the turbulence of daily life, Lewis explained at his London gig that the name of his second album, The Corner of The Sky, is a symbol of the safe musical space he made for himself where the anxieties of every day could be drowned out.

The stunning album offers the heartwarming message of owning your own world and finding contentment and wonderment with where you are in life - away from societal pressures and self-criticism.

Full of warmth, and hope, and penned in a manner which gives an insight into Lewis' own battle with everyday pressures, the album came to life at his London show as mesmerised admirers listened in pin-dropping silence to every lyric - with even Rhys admitting that it felt 'awkward' and 'surreal' to know that his music fans were quite literally waiting on every word he sang.

Proving that his soul is just as gentle and sweet as his music, the singer - whose work has frequently featured on the hit ITV2 dating show Love Island - gushed that it was a dream come true to play his own sold-out show at the iconic London venue.

Following his stellar performance, where the crowd belted out the inspiring lyrics to 'Happy F***ing Birthday' at the top of their lungs, Rhys took to Instagram to insist that it was a night he will never forget as long as he lives.

In the gushing post, the singer penned: " London. That was honestly one of the best nights of my life. The kind of show you dream about being involved in as a musician.

"I was truly speechless on stage, totally blown away by your energy and support for the music. Thank you so much, unforgettable."

To top it off, the magical night was made all the more special when Rhys surprised an unsuspecting woman in the crowd by dedicating his power ballad, Things You Can't Change, to her before her partner got down on one knee to ask for her hand in marriage.

A beautiful night was not only had by the musician and the newly-engaged couple, but by Rhys' fans, old and new, who couldn't help but feel something huge is brimming for the talented singer.

There is no doubt that Rhys will be selling out some of the world's most iconic venues this time next year.

Congratulations are in order for everyone involved in the making of Corner Of The Sky, which Rhys Lewis is currently touring around Europe at the minute.
