The Apprentice ’s Sohail Chowdhary has been fired by Lord Alan Sugar following a disastrous task.

The BBC reality show aired another episode this evening, as the remaining candidates were tasked with design lunchboxes for school children with an accompanying mobile app.

Southampton-based martial arts school owner and instructor Sohail took on the role of project manager for the task but found himself in the bottom three after his team’s pirate-themed offering failed to impress industry experts.

After clashes with fellow competitor Marnie Swindells and the flop of his pirate's treasure chest lunchbox idea, he faced a tense boardroom grilling by Lord Alan Sugar alongside fellow candidates Bradley Johnson and Marnie Swindells.

But ultimately, Chowdhary was sent packing after Lord Sugar's dressing down.

After the show, the competitor said the process was “a lot more tricky” than he realised from watching on TV.

Speaking after his exit, Chowdhary said: “It’s very different compared to what you expect.

“Everyone is watching the show and you’re like ‘Oh, they’re a bunch of idiots, I can do that’. Then when you’re on the show, you become one of those idiots. It’s a lot more tricky compared to what it looks like on TV.

“But either way, I’m so happy that I did it because it’s been such a surreal experience. The exposure has been insane, the amount of opportunities that come off the back of it has been incredible.”

The martial arts school owner said he felt his firing was “fair” and he would no longer stand by the lunchbox which he vouched for in the boardroom, saying: “When it comes down to it a lot of the mistakes were there.”

He added that he had anticipated it was likely to be the end of his journey that day, revealing: “I remember leaving the house in the morning and I was there saying goodbye to the house team, saying ‘This is most likely the last time you’re going to see me’.”

Last week, Joe Phillips was fired by Lord Sugar after he and Simba faced the chop being in the bottom two following a disastrous challenge in Dubai.

Their luxury experience they promised was far from what they were given and thus found themselves losing the task.

The latest axing came just days after Reece Donnelly broke his silence after being kicked off the show.

He was snubbed by the BBC show's spin-off following claims of him 'being axed for drinking alcohol on Dubai flight'.

Fans of the BBC show were stunned to hear that Reece had left the process, with reports later claiming that he was axed from the show after drinking too much during their flight to Dubai for the task.

Reece had hoped to secure the £250,000 investment from Lord Sugar, but after failing to take part in the Dubai task, he exited the process.

Fans were left baffled in last week’s episode after Lord Sugar tasked the remaining candidates with organising and running corporate away days for clients in Dubai.

They were all seen heading to Heathrow Airport to find out what they'd had to do and catch their flight, with Reece expressing his excitement in the taxi for where they might be going.

However, when they landed in Dubai and got into their teams, Reece was nowhere to be seen.

When they later returned to the UK, Lord Sugar confirmed that Reece was out of the competition, telling the others: "So, as you know, Reece wasn't able to take part in the task and has subsequently left the process."

Earlier this week he alluded to his health being the reason he’s no longer on the show.

However, it's since been claimed that Reece had been drinking on the flight even when he was told not to.

The Apprentice airs every Thursday on BBC One and BBC iPlayer at 9pm.
