American boy, 11, dies after losing consciousness on flight from Turkey to US
An 11-year-old child lost consciousness and subsequently passed away during a Turkish Airlines flight.
The flight, originating from Istanbul and bound for New York, was compelled to make an emergency landing in Budapest, Hungary.
Despite the efforts of medical personnel at the scene, the child could not be revived.
The Airport Medical Service promptly responded to the situation after flight TK003 landed in Budapest.
The young boy fell ill shortly after boarding the flight, which departed from Istanbul Airport at 8:56 am local time (6:56 am BST).

It is believed that the 11-year-old was a US citizen and that he travelled accompanied by his family.
According to local media, the cabin crew administered initial aid to the child, who had a disability.
A doctor who happened to be onboard performed CPR, but unfortunately, the child could not be saved.
The aircraft's crew promptly notified the Budapest Ferenc Liszt Airport Traffic Control Tower and obtained permission for an emergency landing at 10:30 am.
A spokesperson from the airport said: "Airport Medical Service (AMS), the medical service operating at Ferenc Liszt International Airport, was alerted to the aircraft and continued to resuscitate the child.
"Despite the rapid and professional intervention, unfortunately, his life could not be saved. The aircraft continued its journey to its original destination."
An ambulance was waiting to transport the boy and his family to the hospital.
The flight resumed its journey several hours later, at 2 pm (1 pm BST).
