Man Utd decide on Pickford bid with De Gea "contemplating" next move
Manchester United are preparing a bid for Everton 's Jordan Pickford, according to reports.
The Red Devils are looking to iron out their goalkeeping situation for next season and a move for the England No 1 could bring about a change at Old Trafford. David de Gea has been United's first choice since joining the club in 2011, but his own future is unclear.
The Spaniard is yet to sign a new deal, although an agreement is thought to be close. Regardless of what he chooses to do United are still set to pursue Everton's shotstopper, who was crucial in keeping the Toffees in the Premier League with some big performances.
Erik ten Hag is keen to bring in a goalkeeper who can challenge De Gea, as per The Sun, and is ready to test Everton's resolve with an offer of around £30m, which could be deemed acceptable by the Merseyside outfit, who spent that amount to acquire him from Sunderland in 2017. Tom Heaton, currently on the books at Old Trafford, could yet head the other way to Goodison Park if a deal is struck.
Pickford is keen to play in the Champions League and United would be able to offer him that opportunity after finishing third last term. Dean Henderson, who spent the year on loan at Nottingham Forest, could also leave Manchester permanently, leaving Ten Hag in need of reinforcements.

De Gea's position has come under fire in recent seasons, which has cast doubt over his future and there is mounting interest coming from the Middle East, who are going after the game's biggest names. The goalkeeper will have to take a sizeable pay cut on his hefty wages with criticism continuing to come his way. He was under the microscope after conceding the winning goal in the FA Cup final.

"In this moment, I don't want to talk about such issues of criticism because we played all a great season - including David de Gea, he played a fantastic season," he said.
The Spaniard, who previously picked up the club's Player of the Year award four times in five years, has seen his performances become increasingly error-strewn. He made a major blunder earlier in the year as United were hammered 4-0 at Brentford.
Ten Hag has been keen to bring in a goalkeeper who can challenge De Gea, with many of the club's understudies during the Spaniard's time at the Old Trafford serving solely as his deputy. Martin Dubravka was signed on loan last term, but was rarely used.
