Elisabeth Shue has enjoyed a decades-long career in the acting industry and she recently marked the release of her latest project by attending its premiere earlier this week.

The actor, now 59, is best known for her roles in The Karate Kid (1984) and the Back to the Future film series a few years later, as well as having appeared in various other films.

Decades on from those roles, Elisabeth has remained in the industry and her most recent credits include roles in two major shows that have been released by streaming platforms.

Her latest role however sees her play the character Lily Wheeland in The Good Half, with her spotted at its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York recently.

She attended the event in the city on Thursday wearing an off-white blouse, which she accompanied with a brown jacket, a pair of blue jeans and some brown boots.

The actor posed for photos on the red carpet for the project, in which she stars alongside the likes of Nick Jonas, David Arquette, Brittany Snow and Alexandra Shipp.

Elisabeth made her film debut in Somewhere, Tomorrow (1983) alongside Sarah Jessica Parker. Her big break however came the following year with the Karate Kid (1984).

She played cheerleader Ali Mills in the martial arts film, with her character having been the love interest of lead Daniel LaRusso, who was played by her co-star Ralph Macchio.

Following her role in the film, Elisabeth appeared in comedy Adventures in Babysitting (1987) and rom-com Cocktail (1988), starring alongside Tom Cruise in the latter project.

One of her best known roles came in the late eighties when she took as the character Jennifer Parker from fellow actor Claudia Wells in the Back to the Future film series.

Elisabeth played the character - who was the partner of Marty McFly, played by Michael J Fox - in Back To The Future Part II (1989) and Back to the Future Part III (1990).

She was nominated for an Academy Award a few years later over her performance as Sera in drama film Leaving Las Vegas (1995), which had also starred Nicolas Cage.

Her more recent acting credits in films include roles in House at the End of the Street (2012), Battle of the Sexes (2017), Death Wish (2018) and Greyhound (2020).

She has also worked on TV shows, including having played the main role of Finlay in the original CSI: Crime Scene Investigation series from 2012 until it ended in 2015.

She played Madelyn Stillwell in two seasons of Amazon Prime 's superhero show The Boys from 2019 to 2020. She reprised the role in animated spin-off Diabolical last year.

Elisabeth reprised her breakthrough role as Ali in the third season of Netflix 's Cobra Kai in 2021. The show acts as a sequel to the Karate Kid film series from the eighties.
