Patrick Mahomes has documented the Kansas City Chiefs visit to the White House in Washington D.C.

The entire Chiefs roster made the trip to the White House to meet with US President Joe Biden on Monday. The Chiefs were treated to the day at the home of the president after winning last season’s Super Bowl.

The Chiefs won their second Lombardi Trophy in four years by beating the Philadelphia Eagles 38-35 back in February at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Arizona.

Mahomes - who led the Chiefs to both their recent Super Bowl triumphs - documented the trip to the White House on his Instagram story. One of his first posts featured himself posing with Chiefs teammate Skyy Moore and former quarterback Chad Henne.

Another post from Mahomes featured most, if not all, of the Chiefs roster celebrating in front of the White House. The camera panned to Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, who was wearing a red suit.

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid was also in attendance with the rest of the roster. Like Mahomes, Reid has now guided the Chiefs to two Super Bowl titles following on from their victory in 2019.

The final post from Mahomes appeared to have been filmed inside the White House. It featured several of his Chiefs teammates performing a well coordinated dance before bursting into laughter.

During the visit to the White House, President Biden delivered a speech on the South Lawn as he praised the Chiefs. After the speech, Mahomes and Kelce presented Biden with a Chiefs jersey that read ‘Biden 46’ on the back, in reference to him being the 46th President of the United States.

“The Chiefs not only hold a title again, they’re building a dynasty,” President Biden said in his speech.

Referring to Mahomes, Biden added: “Boy can play, man. Two-time MVP, the comeback king, the only player in history with a winning record when down by 10 points or more.

“We saw him play with that high ankle sprain, another legendary chapter in the story of one of the greatest quarterbacks of his generation — and I predict of any generation.”

President Biden also joked that it was a good job that his wife, First Lady Dr Jill Biden, was not in attendance due to her being a big Philadelphia Eagles fan. The trip to the US capital was also the first time that the Chiefs had made the visit to the White House.

The US president also paid tribute to Norma Hunt, the wife of late Chiefs founder Lamar Hunt and mother of CEO Clark Hunt, who recently passed away at the age of 85. Biden led the crowd gathered on the South Lawn in a moment of silence before sending “our condolences to the entire Hunt family.”
