Jackass' Bam Margera 'placed on 5150 psychiatric hold' after distressing threats
Jackass star Bam Margera has reportedly been placed on a 5150 psychiatric hold after he made a number of alarming threats regarding his rights to see his son.
The reality TV star, 43, had been reported missing by his brother at the weekend who shared a plea on social media to locate him.
Jess Margera asked his Twitter followers to contact police immediately if they had a sighting of the star. He wrote: "I am trying to ping his phone but as usual it's a whole huge process and I don't think we have that kind of time."
It was said by Jess that Bam had sent his family members a text which made them fear he was suicidal.
Now, TMZ reports the star has been placed on a psychiatric hold with him said to pose a danger to himself and others.
Priscilla Presley slams Bam Margera as she denies giving him Elvis' robe or ringSources told the publication LAPD officers had tracked Bam down on Sunday via tracking his phone. He was reportedly found at Trejo's Tacos, which is a Los Angeles hotspot owned by actor Danny Trejo.
Reports allege officers found his erratic speech and behaviour enough reason to call in the psychiatric evaluation time. That, on top of his recent suicidal threats, are said to have been enough to determine he needed to be 5150'd.
A 5150 hold allows an adult who is experiencing a mental health crisis to be involuntarily detained for three days while they are evaluated on whether they are a danger to others, or to themselves.
It's not sure whether he is still receiving treatment.
Last week, Bam threatened he would smoke crack until he died if he was refused access to his son. He is currently going through a divorce from estranged wife Nikki and has claimed she isn't letting him see the child.
Earlier in the year, Bam was arrested for public intoxication at a Californian restaurant.
It was reported at the time that he had an argument with a woman at the location, where his estranged wife and son were said to be eating. It wasn't clear whether the woman involved was his wife who had filed for legal separation from the Jackass star in February.
The Mirror has contacted Bam's representatives for comment.
