Ange Postecoglou has agreed to become Tottenham’s new boss - and will immediately oversee a major shake-up.

Tottenham will back the incoming manager with funds to spend and they are ready to rival Newcastle in the battle to sign Leicester’s £40m-rated James Maddison.

They want a new keeper to replace Hugo Lloris with Brentford’s David Raya on their hit list while Wolves defender Max Kilman has also been a target.

But they are also ready to sell captain Lloris who is ready to leave, Davinson Sanchez has also fallen out of favour while they postponed contract talks with Eric Dier until the end of the season.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is determined to resist bids for Harry Kane despite huge interest from Real Madrid and Manchester United.

Real Madrid want Kane to replace Karim Benzema while Spurs are adamant they will not sell to a Premier League rival. That should at least give Postecoglou a clear idea that Kane will be part of his new-look Spurs team for next season.

Celtic gave Postecoglou permission to speak to Spurs after the 57-year-old Aussie completed the Treble last weekend, clinching the Scottish Cup to win all three.

Postecoglou has been keen to move to English football and Spurs was a huge opportunity as he also becomes the first Australian to manage in the Premier League.

Former Australia boss Postecoglou has now agreed to become Tottenham boss after being offered a two year deal with a further one year option.

Tottenham plan to announce the appointment within the next 48 hours after agreeing terms and also a compensation package with Celtic.

Spurs are expected to pay less than £5m to get Postecoglou who was on a rolling contract in Scotland and the Aussie is now keen to start working immediately.
