Man City vs Man Utd FA Cup final live: Team news and updates from Wembley

Manchester City hope to complete the second leg of an historic treble in the FA Cup final at Wembley, but rivals Manchester United will have other ideas.

United's 1999 treble success of FA Cup, Premier League and Champions League remains one of the club's finest hours, and the Red Devils are determined to stop City from repeating their feat after they wrapped up the Premier League title last month.

Pep Guardiola's side face Inter Milan in the Champions League final next weekend, but before that they can lift their second trophy of the campaign at Wembley.

United, who won the Carabao Cup in February, are also seeking a second trophy of the season, and victory would cap off a fine first season for boss Erik ten Hag.

5 talking points - Man City 2-1 Man Utd

Manchester City claimed FA Cup glory to edge themselves closer to the treble.

Manchester United were worthy opponents at Wembley but were ultimately edged out by their neighbours, who have Ilkay Gundogan to thank for their victory after the German scored both their goals, one in each half, to steal the show.

City found themselves ahead within seconds as Gundogan volleyed home, but were unable to further their advantage and VAR allowed United a route back into the contest after penalising Jack Grealish for a handball, which presented Bruno Fernandes with the chance to level the contest - one he didn't pass up.

Shearer on first-half

Alan Shearer has delivered his verdict on the first-half of the FA Cup final.

Shearer said: "It’s been a really good and interesting first half. You plan all week from a Manchester United point of view and then after 12 seconds those plans you think okay, let’s just calm down, there’s not much we could have done about that goal. Other than that it was a performance I expected from Manchester United.

"Been tough, been hard, been disciplined, and tried to make it an ugly game, if you like. Whatever you think of the decision - and we’ll get into it - they’ve got back into this game."
