BGT's singing magician 'rumbled' as viewers 'figure out' teleportation trick

A Britain's Got Talent contestant was "rumbled" by viewers who believed they figured out how he did his act in the latest episode.

Lewis Fuller competed for a spot in the final of this year's competition on Tuesday night, but many viewers were not completely impressed.

The singer and magician wowed viewers with his initial audition, but many thought they could figure out how he was doing his teleportation hacks in the semi-finals.

Combining his two skills, Lewis started off his act with a magic trick.

He then gave Simon a piece of paper with a song title, before he headed onto the stage to sing the song he predicted Simon had on his card.

Lewis then started to show off his teleportation skills as he appeared to move around the stage whilst singing.

As he neared the end of the performance, Lewis appeared behind the judges as he 'transported' across the arena.

Yet many viewers thought they knew how Lewis did it.

"He used a pre record of himself on the box, went down the trap door and there ya have it? #BGT," wrote one viewer.

Another added: "I’m sorry, but how can the production know what Simon was thinking of? Seems so obviously rigged! First half of the act was good, but then got ruined with that!"

"Wonder how he done that, not as if there is a trap door below him," someone else quipped whilst one fan commented: "Those r such obvious pre recorded screens."

However one viewer added: "Honestly first half was a bit underwhelming, but when he did the singing and magic from his audition again it was utterly astounding. No idea how Lewis Fuller does any of that magic."

On Tuesday night, many viewers shared the same complaint after noticing a common theme with all the acts.

The bill included dancers Yo Highness, Nathan & Joanne and comedic act Viggo Venn as well as singers Johns’ Boys, Olivia Lynes, Lewis Fuller and Tia Connolly, and daredevil Andrew Stanton.

Viewers quickly noted that four of the eight acts were singers or singing groups, while three of them were dancers or dance was an aspect of the performance.

Given the variety of talent on the show, some viewers were not impressed with the decision to have so many acts of a similar talent on the same episode.

One viewer said: "What actually is the point of #BGT if its just singers and dancers in the final all the time?"

Another tweeted sarcastcially: "The show could do with a few more dance groups and singers on it."

A third viewer added: "Not another dance act," as another tweeted: "Another singer? #yawn."

Britain's Got Talent's live semi-finals air all this week at 8PM on ITV1 and ITVX.
