Baby dies in 'unexplained' death as tributes paid to 'brightest star in the sky'

Tributes have been paid to a baby girl who died, as her death is currently being treated as unexplained.

Floral tributes have been left outside of a property in Teesside, North East England.

Cleveland Police was called to a property on Castleton Road in Stockton on Sunday at 7.30am, after receiving reports that a baby had suddenly died at a private address.

Police were called to attend to the address by paramedics from the North East Ambulance Service, reports Teesside Live.

Emergency ambulances were called to the scene just minutes before to attend to an 'medical incident,' where two vehicles were sent to the home.

One patient was transported to University Hospital of North Tees, however it has been confirmed that a baby has died.

The force has confirmed that the death is currently being treated as unexplained.

A post-mortem examination is set to take place in the future to determine the baby's cause of death

Meanwhile, floral tributes have been left outside of the home on the street, paying tribute to a 'little princess' and 'brightest star in the sky'.

Bunches of flowers were left on the doorstep of a home with one reading: "Rest in peace gorgeous girl, you're the brightest star in the sky".

Another read: "God bless little princess."

A Cleveland Police spokesperson said: "Police received a report of the sudden death of a baby at a property on Castleton Road, Stockton, around 7:30am on Sunday, May 28. The death is currently being treated as unexplained and a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.

"Our thoughts remain with the family of the baby at this extremely difficult time."

A NEAS spokesperson said: "We were called at 7:27am on Sunday, May 28 to a medical incident at a private address on Castleton Road, Stockton. We sent two emergency ambulances and transported one patient to University Hospital of North Tees."
