A teenage boy died following a 'medical episode' on the first day of a Welsh music festival.

The 16-year-old died in an ambulance on the way to hospital after attending the In It Together festival in Margam, Neath Port Talbot on Friday.

The three-day family-friendly festival, which ends today and is described as "Wales' biggest festival", returned for its second year with The Kooks, Anne-Marie, James and UB40 among the acts performing, reports Wales Online.

A spokesman for South Wales Police: "Police officers were called to an incident at the In It Together festival at Margam after a 16-year-old boy from Port Talbot suffered a medical episode. Sadly the boy died while being taken to hospital via ambulance. Our sympathies are with his family at this time."
