The View’s Whoopi Goldberg seemed a little annoyed in a recent episode of the beloved daytime talk show when she defended a Governor and scolded the studio audience when they booed him.

Fuming at the audience when they erupted in disagreement, the Sister Act actress and talk show host, 67, begged those in the studio to stop "booing".

The live studio audience was in disagreement with a guest's thoughts on gun laws and safety, with the audience soon booing him - before being shut down by no-nonsense host Whoopi.

Thursday morning's panel welcomed New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu to the studio, with him soon talking about his plans to protect the public from mass shootings.

Speaking on the show about how he has "the safest state in the country", the Governor said: "The validity, the merits of the law are based on the results against. I have the safest state in the country, so why are we having the mass shootings?

"It's not because people have access to guns. It's because we're not dealing with mental health.

"We don't provide access for mental health with kids. When people are in crisis, they have nowhere to turn. They resort to violence. We don't do the right things in terms of locking down our schools and protecting," he went on.

Challenging the guest, Whoopi asked: "Why are you holding on to this one gun? What is it about this one gun?"

Clapping in agreement, the audience seemed impressed by Whoopi's response, which came before Joy Behar waded in.

The 80-year-old co-host said: "The automatic rifle. They killed a bunch of children who were just going to school. That gun!"

Governor Sununu then chimed in: "Again, if it was that easy, the Democrats would've done it. They didn't do it because they know that's not the change," before he was cut off by Joy.

"Forget about the Democrats right now. What are you going to do?" she challenged him.

"No, I'm not banning any guns. I'm gonna provide access to mental health. We're gonna get at the core of the issue, which is what spurs a lot of the violence," he then added.

The audience then erupted with loud boos and unimpressed remarks, with their disagreement filling the studio - which was apparent through the screen.

"No," Whoopi said sternly as she addressed the audience while pointing and looking disappointed.

"No, no, no. No, no. No! No booing," she continued, adding: "We need to talk to people to find out what they’re thinking and are they thinking in the right way..."

"He's not gonna be perfect; none of them are. But at least give people the opportunity to say what's going on."
