'The Tories are trying to divert public attention from flop Suella Braverman'
Dithering Rishi Sunak’s failure to deal swiftly and decisively with Suella Braverman shows his weakness.
The Prime Minister is held hostage by the most extreme right-wing, self-righteous and entitled Tory MPs – those who have been championed by the arrogant Home Secretary.
They have no respect for Sunak who, in turn, is afraid to enforce high standards in public office. Lessons for ministers to avoid scandals and sleaze should not be necessary.
But this failing, fading Tory regime needs them when the likes of Braverman blur personal and public interests.
It is telling that Labour deputy leader Angela Rayner’s questions about the Home Secretary went unanswered.

But this will not work as record net migration figures this week will prove Braverman has flopped in her day job, as well as in maintaining professional standards.

Inspiring care
Plastic surgeon Brian Sommerlad, dad of Daily Mirror ace investigator Nick Sommerlad, deserves huge plaudits for taking the NHS principle of free care to impoverished Bangladesh.
The work by Brian and other volunteers with the CLEFT charity repairing the palates of people unable to pay is truly inspiring.
