Newsboy's racing tip for Monday's five meetings, including Windsor nap
LETHAL NYMPH (6.35) can strike the killer blow to win the Fitzdares Sprint Series Qualifier Handicap over six furlongs at Windsor.
Clive Cox’s four-year-old made his racecourse debut as a three-year-old last April, winning twice on the bounce at Wolverhampton and Doncaster over the same trip, and he followed up in the autumn with a brace of victories at Ascot, the second of which was his best performance to date with a two-and-a-half-length success despite running freely in the early stages.
He was last seen finishing down the field in a valuable York handicap last October, but the gelding got stuck in the soft ground that day, and Windsor’s faster surface will definitely suit him.
SOPHIA’S STARLIGHT (4.10) is taken to shine in the Wreay Handicap over a mile at Carlisle. Grant Tuer’s four-year-old scored an effortless four-and-a-quarter-length novice win over seven furlongs at Wolverhampton 10 days ago after a 183-day break.
Her North Yorkshire trainer is having an excellent season and will have the filly primed for her handicap debut in what is an open contest.
