Stephen King points out 'distracting' blunder in The Last Of Us

Stephen King called out a distracting error during hit show The Last of Us that not many other people seemed to pick up on.

HBO premiered the third episode of the hit drama on Sunday - and its army of fans loved every minute.

The show, adapted from the popular video game of the same name, has a huge following and the weekend episode saw Joel and Ellie try to sneak out of Boston.

Viewers soon discovered that the rebellious duo successfully left the city but where exactly were they?

Using overlaying text to explain that they were “10 miles west of Boston” much of the focus was on their escape.

Showed a scenic river backed by mountains, most people didn't think too much of it.

But it was the location that soon caused a bit of a stir.

Author Stephen clearly knows a thing or two about the area and was quick to pick up on the error.

The horror writer tweeted: “Do you really want to tell me that’s 10 miles west of Boston?”

He wasn't the only one to notice the gaffe.

One fans tweeted: "Getting belligerently angry when “the last of us” tries to claim that a mountainous terrain that’s clearly northwestern is '10 miles west of boston'."

Another said: "I got into it after that but when that text came on screen my husband and I looked at each other at the same time and said “bulls***.” But I had forgotten about it until this tweet bc the rest was SO GOOD."

But one person told Stephen: "That’s what you got out of one of the most beautiful episodes of television?"

Arguably the very thing that formed Bill and Frank's heart-warming romance, Linda Ronstadt's Long Long Time is quickly climbing the streaming site's rankings.

After the episode aired, fans flocked to Twitter to share their thoughts on the final scene.

One person wrote: "Episode 3 was an emotional one, I like that we get to know more about Bill and Frank's backstory and almost teared up at the end of the episode."

Another person tweeted: "F**k me #TheLastOfUs I’m in absolute bits here. What a stunning, emotional gut wrenching episode."

"Bill and Frank's characters gave this episode a unique angle, setting it apart from the rest. Seeing them grow up was a profoundly emotional experience, and I really enjoyed it," penned a third viewer.
