There’s a swathe of tricks you can try with your Sky remote including taping the logo at the top to get instant access to your recordings and pressing the control arrows to skip between two channels.

Now Sky is reminding owners of its latest Glass TVs about another button they might want to tap and it’s worth knowing if you want the very best viewing experience.

On the Sky Glass controller, you should see a button with three small white dots - it sits under the power switch in the top left corner of the accessory.

If you press this, a pop-up menu will appear at the bottom of the Glass screen. Simply scroll across to “Viewing Mode” and make sure “Auto” is then selected.

This clever option checks what’s being shown on the screen and adapts the picture to suit the genre automatically. So things will get a boost when viewing the football and switch the visuals if you pop a movie on.

It should mean everything watched is then perfectly set for the ultimate viewing experience.

There’s also another thing to try from this settings menu with Sky including a special Night Mode as well.

With this turned on, volume levels of dramatic sounds are reduced so you won’t disturb the family when watching an action movie.

Speaking about the features, Sky’s resident Hackspert Rebecca Waring, Head of Product said: "The Auto-Enhance feature on Sky Glass was designed to create the best viewing experience for our customers. Whether you’re a football-mad fan, or a cinema buff, Auto-Enhance lets Sky’s top-quality content do the talking."

If you’ve never heard of Sky Glass then this connected TV was announced back in late 2021.

It includes a screen and soundbar plus you don’t need a dish stuck on the wall with all content beamed to the screen via the internet. It comes in three sizes (43", 55" and 65") plus there are numerous colours to choose from such as Ocean Blue and Dusky Pink.

Other features include instant access to all the most popular streaming apps and favourite shows can be stored in something Sky calls Playlists. This is a bit like recordings although content is held here via online players and cloud services.

Prices for Sky Glass start from £14 per month and you can see all the best deals here.
