In June 2022 a young worker at a Subway fast food restaurant was shot and killed after a customer pulled out a gun and opened fire because they were angry over the amount of mayonnaise on their sandwich.

The shooting has left cops in the US city of Atlanta shocked, with one senior officer calling the incident 'ridiculous'.

Police were sent to a petrol station following reports a person had been shot.

When they arrived, horrified officers discovered two women had been attacked in a dispute over a sandwich, Local news channel WSB-TV reported.

One of the young women died and another female worker was seriously hurt in the bloodbath.

“It just breaks my heart to know that someone has the audacity to point a weapon, and shoot someone for as little as too much mayonnaise on a sandwich,” takeaway co-owner Willie Glenn said.
