Gorillaz's Damon Albarn says he's put money on Noel and Liam Gallagher reforming Oasis

Damon Albarn revealed he 'put money' on Liam and Noel Gallagher reuniting for their band, Oasis.

The Gorillaz musician, 55, joins the rest of the world in hoping that the feuding brothers will put their differences aside for their band.

It comes as Damon's band, Blur, announced their reunion last year after a seven-year hiatus.

In recent months, there have also been growing hopes that the brothers would hit the road or release new music as Oasis reaches a landmark year with the 30th anniversary of their debut album.

And now, Blur's Damon added fuel to the fire by predicting the two reuniting in the future and 'putting money' on it.

"I can guarantee they're going to reform. In fact, I've put money on it," Damon said about the brothers.

Speaking to The Sun, he said: "They're brothers and it would be wonderful to see them reconcile."

Over the years, Noel and Liam discussed the chances of the band reforming all while posting digs about each other online.

Noel recently quashed hopes for a reunion tour to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their debut album Definitely Maybe.

On the bright side, he promised fans a special re-release of the iconic album which will feature a host of previously lost songs from the recording sessions - including acoustic versions of Live Forever, Slide Away and Supersonic.

He said: “In the Sony archives we’ve found tapes dating to those sessions. We thought they were lost, but they were mislabelled. They are wonderful versions of those songs, some acoustic versions.”

But he added: "There won’t be a tour, we won’t come back to play them together."

The chart-topping group disbanded in 2009 when Noel sensationally announced he was leaving the group just hours after it was revealed they wouldn't be playing a headline show at the Rock En Seine festival in Paris.

Noel appeared on Radio X's Evening Show with Dan O'Connell earlier this year and said Oasis already reached their potential.

"Look it's the done thing now isn't it, is to kind of everybody's getting back together, and Blur are playing Wembley stadium, everyone's getting back together," he said.

"I will say, and I've said it a thousand times if Oasis hadn't had reached their potential, and there was something left to do, it would be different."
