Dr Ranj has revealed the alleged feud surrounding This Morning hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield has made him think about the programme.

The medical doctor, who was on the show from 2016 until around two years ago, has spoken candidly about the drama happening behind the scenes at ITV towers.

In recent days, it emerged that Holly, 42, has distanced herself from Phillip, 61, despite the pair once being the closest of friends.

They were friends for several years after becoming work pals, but it's since emerged that Holly and Phillip have cancelled family trips together.

Phillip also left Holly blindsided by issuing a statement about their friendship, without her knowing.

Speaking to Johnny Seifert on his The Secure the Insecure Podcast Dr Ranj, who now works on Morning Live, said: "I've had a bit of a wobble this week, where we're kind of thinking, hang on, do I fit in here?

"Does this align with my values? It feels like this isn't the kind of environment that I want to be a part of. And there's been a lot of negativity around various parts that we're all part of this process.

"Is this really a place for people like us where we're thinking, 'Hang on, this is not ok, you know, what's going on and what we're hearing doesn't align with our values?'"

He went on to say that due to the ongoing feud between the two hosts, he faced an "identity crisis" which he "certainly" felt this week.

Holly is reportedly pushing bosses at the network for a new contract when hers ends in September and is keen for bosses to know she will front the show alone if need be.

The Mirror revealed that ITV bosses would be prepared to sack Schofield from his role on the shows he and Holly co-present should viewers notice their "chemistry" had changed.

Now, it's reported that their friendship is completely over but they are putting on appearances while working together.

While Phillip is reportedly aware of the public's opinion of him, sources claim he is prepared to "tough it out" after Holly decided to cut all ties with her former best friend.

Bosses are believed to be holding key meetings in the coming days to discuss his future on the show with reports suggesting his last appearance could be in the coming weeks.

His and Holly's contract comes to an end in September and their future remains uncertain if they're unable to convince viewers that they remain pals.
