Driver gets stuck between two homes and blocks street sparking fury from locals
Furious locals have hit out at a 'dozy parker' after they completely blocked off a road with their car.
Residents in the idyllic tourist hotspot of St Ives in Cornwall woke up one morning last weekend to find a Kia Xceed left across one of the town's narrow streets - with seemingly no owner in sight.
The discovery on Barnoon Hill in the early hours of Saturday morning meant pedestrians were forced to find another way around, while one man living nearby had a few choice words about the car owner.
Billy Thomas, who described them as a "numpty", told Cornwall Live he'd even considered walking over the bonnet as a shortcut.
But he decided against it, as he didn't want to be caught on their dashboard camera.
'I'm in a 10-year parking row with my neighbour - I know she's acting illegally'He added: "I couldn't quite believe it really.
"I had to take a detour. I would have just gone over the bonnet but all these new cars have dash cams these days so I thought best not".
He also described the car as "abandoned".
While it is not known how the car ended up in the spot, it is possible the owner had experienced a handbrake issue, causing the car to slide down the steep hill from its original spot until it became wedged between the two buildings.
In March, a different driver who controversially blocked two disabled parking bays was slammed online by locals - who thought the 'inconsiderate' motorist should be 'ashamed'.
A member of the public shared a photo of the lime green Kia straddling the gap between two parking spaces in the car park off Belvoir Road in Coalville, Leicestershire.
Their positioning sparked anger amongst the community, as the gap is not a parking space and obstructing it blocks access to two disabled bays - meaning those that need them wouldn't be able to park.
The snap of the poor parking display was captioned: "I've seen some inconsiderate parking before but this really takes the biscuit. (No blue badge) Whoever's this is should be ashamed!"
