Woman unsure if she can ever go back to Starbucks after barista's hidden message

For some people, finding a note from a secret admirer might be a positive thing, something that could make their day. Other times this sort of attention can be unwanted and leave the recipient feeling awkward or uncomfortable.

A woman has been left feeling red-faced after a Starbucks barista left a hidden message on her coffee cup.

The unnamed woman, who posts on TikTok under the name @chance_twins, shared a look at the coffee cup in a video and confessed she is not sure if she ever wants to go back to her local Starbucks after the encounter.

In the clip, the woman showed off the coffee cup which had a big arrow going all the way to the bottom of the cup and stopped when it reached the "secret message".

At the bottom of the cup, text was circled which would usually tell customers: "Careful, the beverage you're about to enjoy is extremely hot."

But instead, the Starbucks employee had crossed out several of the words so that the message read: "Careful, you're extremely hot."

The woman was left red-faced by the encounter and did not appreciate what the barista had done.

She indicated she wouldn't be going back to the coffee shop because she couldn't face seeing the barista again.

"What just happened at Starbucks? Never going back there," she captioned the video.

Commenters were divided over the gesture, while some thought it was "cute" and branded the message "smooth", others wondered how many other people the barista had written the same message to.

One person said: "That was smooth, not going to lie."

While another added: "It's cute, girls say guys never do anything. He just put his heart out to you."

But a third found the message suspicious, as they wrote: "I'm wondering how many other girls he did that to."
