Nicola Bulley's partner has contacted Mercedes for help in hopes of tracking the missing mum's car keys, a family friend has said.

The mortgage adviser, 45, has been missing since January 27 and was last seen walking her brown spaniel Willow near the River Wyre in St Michaels on the Wyre, Lancashire.

Yesterday, cops were seen searching at Wyreside Farm Caravan Park and last week they were seen scouring the River Wyre down to Morecambe Bay.

As the search for Nicola is in its third week, her partner Paul Ansell has repeatedly said he doesn't believe she's in the river.

Nicola's friends and family are desperate for answers and have refused to give up as they continue to appeal for anyone who may remember something to come forward.

The mum-of-two's neighbour and friend previously addressed speculation that the dog walker's keys had been left in the ignition, saying they were likely in her coat pocket.

Charlotte Drake told the Metro: "She would have put [them] in her coat pocket."

According to Paul Ansell, the keys are described "with a couple of Mercedes keyrings on it, one black and one blue, a round wooden key ring with paw prints on it, and a couple of normal keys".

Another friend of the couple, Heather Gibbons, said Paul had got in touch with Mercedes very soon after it became clear that Nicola was missing.

She said: "Paul has been clear about Nikki's keys being missing from the get-go.

"In the local searches, he specifically asked people to keep their eyes open for them and even organised for people to go out with metal detectors.

"One of the first things he did was to contact Mercedes to see if they could be tracked."

Paul has insisted he doesn't think Nicola is in the river.

Peter Faulding led a private underwater search team as he joined the search for the mum-of-two last week, but left the village after three days of scouring several miles of the River Wyre.

He has now launched his own "low-key" search and claims he has spoken to Ms Bulley's family about "deposition sites" - a term referring to a place where someone has been buried.
