Mama June hits out at controversial jab Ozempic amid weight loss battle
Mama June Shannon has revealed she won't be using a certain jab in her weight loss transformation after hearing about "so many bad side effects".
The TLC reality star said she has no interest in taking Ozempic as she is trying "to stay clean", after managing to overcome a crippling drug addiction.
The 43-year-old famously lost 300lb (21.4 stone) back in 2017 and dropped from a size 18 to a size four after undergoing bariatric surgery.
Mama June has since gained 100lb (7.1 stone) back, but said she won't be taking the Ozempic jab.
While some have linked the injection with weight loss, Ozempic is actually used to manage type II diabetes and mimics hormones in the brain which are responsible for appetite and feelings of fullness. It is not a licensed option for weight management.

"It is using a drug that isn't really prescribed to do that. They're using a diabetic drug to take care of weight loss," she said in a new interview.
A number of celebrities have admitted to using Ozempic to try to lose weight, including Sharon Osbourne and Real Housewives of New Jersey star Dolores Catania.
However, Mama June said she doesn't want to risk her sobriety.
"No offense to people out there that are doing it, but it’s just not for me. I want to stay clean. I'm not judging anyone, but it's not for me," she told the Daily Mail.
The star also hit back at claims that she has been gaining weight as a result of a poor diet, but insisted that isn't the case.
She said she has been at around 241lb (17.2 stone) for almost two years now and said she doesn't "move on the scale now".
Mama June cut many things from her diet to lose weight, including soda and tea. She also said she also doesn't "snack like I used to".
