You love dogs. We love dogs. Let’s help Dogs Trust find out as much as they possibly can about dogs. The charity is conducting the UK’s biggest survey of dog owners, like you, to find out all about your dogs’ lives, what you love about being a dog owner, and which areas you find challenging.

The results of the National Dog Survey 2023 will help them understand what’s on owners’ minds and what can be done to assist them, to ensure the UK’s dogs have the happiest lives possible.

Have your say in the National Dog Survey 2023

Looking after a dog can be a complex thing. Sometimes they have needs you’re unsure how to manage, or caring for them may involve financial pressures you hadn’t anticipated. Throughout the cost of living crisis, the charity has seen an unprecedented rise in the number of enquiries from people needing to hand over their dogs.

Dogs Trust have been helping the nation’s dogs for over a century, but understand that the experience of being a dog owner has changed significantly over the years. By finding out the needs of today's dogs and their owners, Dogs Trust can understand what support is needed most.

Findings from the National Dog Survey 2021 highlighted that there are lots of owners out there who don’t know where to go for reliable advice when their dog is showing behaviour they don’t understand.

So the charity set up the Behaviour Support Line, giving owners access to experts who can give them free advice and guidance on dealing with challenges. The results of the 2023 survey will help them provide even more vital services.

Completing the survey should take no more than 10 minutes. It’s the sort of thing you could do while enjoying a cup of tea or riding the bus to work.

They’re all really simple questions about your dog and your life as a dog owner, such as how long you’ve had your dog, what you do with them when you’re going on holiday, and the one thing that would improve life with your dog. It’s not just for owners of rescue dogs. It’s for all dog owners.

Your answers could help Dogs Trust do even better work and give countless dogs a better future.
