Tammy Abraham has established himself as a top striker during two seasons with Roma and a move back to the Premier League could be on the cards this summer.

Abraham has scored 36 goals in 100 appearances for Jose Mourinho ’s side and played a key role in winning the club’s first European trophy since 1961 when they triumphed in the inaugural Europa Conference League last May. By his own admission, he has developed massively as a player and could now be set for a move.

Mirror Football understands that Roma are open for offers in the region of £40million and believe that the Premier League represents the most likely route for the 25-year-old, due to the money involved. Having been loaned out three times by Chelsea, Abraham now wants to be the main man at whichever club he plays for.

So where might he end up in the summer transfer window? Mirror Football takes a look at the options.

Chelsea

Abraham came through the Chelsea academy, becoming one of the hottest youth prospects in the country in the process, to make his first-team debut in 2016. He went on to score 30 goals in 82 appearances for the Blues, but got frustrated with the lack of regular game time.

That is what took him to Roma in a £34m transfer in the summer of 2021, but a return could be on the cards. That is because Chelsea have a €80million (£70m) buyback clause in his contract.

That is the theory, but the reality appears to be quite different. Chelsea are desperate to trim their squad for the incoming Mauricio Pochettino, and although they want a new striker, they are unlikely to go back for Abraham.

Tottenham

Chelsea are not the only club who need a centre-forward this summer. It could finally be the time for Harry Kane to leave Spurs – and if he does depart, the club will need to replace him.

Abraham has the characteristics to play as a lone central striker and his pace might make him a good fit for the likes of Son Heung-min, Richarlison and Dejan Kulusevski.

Man Utd

Kane is United’s first-choice as they search for a top-quality striker this summer. But they cannot afford to solely focus on the England captain and have been scouting Abraham this season.

Other names have been floated, including Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Randal Kolo Muani, but both have problems. Osimhen is likely to command a huge transfer fee, while Kolo Muani is being pursued by Bayern Munich.

Could Abraham offer a cheaper, more attainable alternative? He is unlikely to appease United fans, who have been burdened with Wout Weghorst since Cristiano Ronaldo left.

But Erik ten Hag recently admitted that a striker is of paramount importance. “Yeah, I think everyone knows,” he said when asked if a new No.9 will be his priority. “It’s not a secret that over the whole season we had a shortage of No.9s.”

Liverpool

Reds stalwart Roberto Firmino will leave the club at the end of the campaign, bringing to an end eight years of service to the club. The 31-year-old has not been heavily involved this season, due to injuries and increased competition, but he will need replacing.

Midfield is the focus for Liverpool in the upcoming window, with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Naby Keita and James Milner also leaving. But Abraham may have caught their eye too.

Newcastle

The Magpies have enjoyed a great period in front of goal, with Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson both contributing with regularity. But the club splashing out on a new striker cannot be ruled out, with the investment of Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund making them a serious player.

Newcastle have been linked with the likes of Raphinha – and even Neymar – of late, so a bid for Abraham is not outlandish.

Aston Villa

Italian media has frequently named Villa on the list of clubs interested in Abraham and their improvement under Unai Emery could see them secure European football for next season.

That could tempt Abraham, who has won the Conference League and is in the semi-finals of the Europa League this season. However, Ollie Watkins’ status as the number one striker at the club could prevent a move, with Abraham not happy to play back-up.
