Olympian athlete-turned-TV presenter Sam Quek admitted she was wracked with mum guilt when she returned to work eight weeks after giving birth to her son.

The 34-year-old hockey player and her property entrepreneur husband Tom are proud parents to daughter Molly, who arrived in March 2021, and one-year-old Isaac 'Zac' Gregory Mairs.

Sam – who is a champion field hockey player and now a TV presenter – welcomed baby Zac two weeks early.

She then returned to work two months after giving birth, leaving her with a lot of 'mum guilt'.

The star said: "I get a lot of mum guilt. They're only young for so long.

"I look back at photos, especially of Zac, and I can't remember the first two months, and then I went back to work eight weeks after giving birth to him."

She added to new! magazine that she didn't take her son to work with her.

"I didn't, because my husband is fantastic. I was pumping breast milk for about three months with Zac. But mum guilt still exists," Sam added.

Sam fell pregnant with Zac a little sooner than either she or her husband expected.

The athlete was rushed to the hospital two weeks before her due date with surgeons performing an emergency C-Section after she was bleeding uncontrollably.

Speaking about her dynamic as a member of a family of four,Sam told OK! magazine last year:"I think being a family of four, it’s pretty surreal, in my opinion.

"I’m loving every minute of it but it is a lot different to having the one baby and being a family of three. We’ve definitely got our hands full."

Tom agreed, as he added: "In my head, it wasn’t going to be much of a difference and it would be changing nappies again alongside Sam. But it is very different."

Although her daughter Molly also arrived via C-Section, Sam admitted she was more nervous about being operated on the second time.

The couple also explained how they struggled to decide on Zac’s name before he arrived.

Sam said: "With Molly, we did an app which was a bit like Tinder to find names we liked and what we matched. When we did it with Zac, we matched on a lot less."
