A horrific weekend of violence throughout the UK has seen four people stabbed to death in a spate of horrifying attacks.

Despite yesterday's celebrations of King Charles' coronation there was heartache in several corners of the country thanks to a grim three-day litany of violence.

A man has been stabbed to death inside a McDonald's in Bath city centre, while a woman was rushed to hospital after being held hostage in her home - while terrified neighbours reported hearing gunshots.

Three separate stabbings have happened within miles of each other in East London, which have resulted in the deaths of a man in his 20s and two teenagers.

Elsewhere, a man has been left fighting for his life after a brutal attack outside a pub in Coventry, while a man was beaten up by a gang of three outside a Subway in Liverpool.

A man died after a reported stabbing in a city centre McDonald's after a horrific attack in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Emergency services rushed to the scene in Southgate Street, Bath at around 3.30am where they found Ben Moncrieff suffering from serious injuries.

Despite the efforts of paramedics, he could not be saved and his friends have paid tribute to the 'hard working lad' who brought 'endless smiles' to everyone he met.

Three arrests have been made following the tragic incident.

Teenager murdered in horror machete fight

A teenager was stabbed to death in a horror machete fight in East London on Friday night.

Met Police officers were called to the scene of the terrifying incident near Dagenham Heathway Tube station shortly before midnight.

The victim has been named by his uncle Michel Pongo on social media as 18-year-old Jordan.

Barking and Dagenham Cllr Michel Pongo wrote on Twitter: "It was with great sadness that this afternoon I learned that my nephew, Jordan, 18, had been stabbed to death in Dagenham last night.

"His mother is inconsolable. If you are gang member, this message is for you.

A schoolboy was stabbed to death on the way home from school in Walthamstow, East London - and his killer is still on the loose.

The 16-year-old was ambushed walking home from Kelmscott school on Friday evening in a 'senseless attack'.

The pupil, who has not yet been named, was met outside by his attackers who were “waiting for him”, a local said.

He tried to escape but was stabbed a short distance away outside an auto parts store as other pupils watched.

Parmedics rushed to the scene but he died a short while later, leaving the school community deeply shocked and saddeed.

Head teacher Sam Jones said that the attack marked the 'darkest of days' for the school community.

"A Kelmscott student was tragically killed in a senseless knife attack,” he said. “Kelmscott is a large and tight-knit family and this loss will be felt for a long time to come."

There have been no arrests so far in connection with the brutal attack.

Man murdered at home with 3 arrested

A man in his late 20s was murdered at a home in Hackney, East London on Friday night.

Emergency services scrambled to the scene shortly after 11pm where they found a man stabbed at the property on Mare Street.

Two men, one aged in his 40s and the other aged in his 50s and one woman, aged in her 50s, have been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the incident, according to the Met Police.

They were taken to an East London police station where they remain for questioning.

Mum in hospital after being 'held hostage at home'

A mum-of-two has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after being held hostage at her Kent home, witnesses have said.

Locals described hearing gunshots after armed police smashed into a terraced house in Dartford.

Police said officers went to a house in Priory Road at 12.40pm on Saturday with a trained negotiator following reports of a disturbance. A man was also rushed to hospital after the incident.

Witnesses described how police cordoned off the road and ordered people to stay inside their homes, before officers smashed through the front door of the property and went inside.

After an hour long stand-off, 'pandemonium' broke out and neighbours heard what they described as sounding like two rounds of gunshots.

No arrests have yet been made in connection with the incident.

Pensioner fighting for her life after being knifed multiple times

A 72-year-old woman is fighting for her life in hospital after being stabbed multiple times in the early hours of this morning.

Emergency services rushed to the scene in Quay Street, Worcester, at around 2am where they found the victim with life-threatening injuries.

The woman was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham and remains in a critical condition.

The street has been declared a crime scene and has been closed to the public.

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "Officers are investigating the attempted murder of a 72-year-old woman in Quay Street, Worcester, in the early hours of this morning.

"A 56-year-old male is in custody on suspicion of attempted murder."

Man attacked by 'gang' outside Subway

A 22-year-old man is in hospital with a serious head injury after a violent attack outside a Subway in Liverpool centre.

Police were called to Bold Street shortly after 4.15am this morning after a man was found unconscious on the ground.

It was reported that the 22-year-old, from Wirral, had been assaulted by a gang of two men and a woman outside the popular sandwich shop.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "He suffered a serious head injury and was taken to hospital, where he remains in a serious but stable condition."

A woman from London was arrested near the scene and taken to a police station for questioning by detectives.

Man fighting for his life after attack outside pub

A man has been left fighting for his life after he was the victim of a serious assault outside a pub in Coventry.

The attack happened at around 11pm near The Phonenix pub in Gosford Street late on Friday night

Officers were called to the scene near The Phoenix at around 11pm.

A man was found seriously injured and taken to hospital where he continues to receive treatment for 'life-threatening' injuries, according to West Midlands Police.

A 21-year-old man has handed himself in and remains in custody.
