The 1% Club made history with tonight's show - as 12 people made it through to the one per cent question.

The gameshow - fronted by Lee Mack - was back for a new episode this evening, and it managed to break records as it featured the most people ever getting through to the final question in the show's history.

Lee couldn't believe it when he was faced by 12 people for the final question. They were all asked if they would like to take home their share of £10,000 or if they would prefer to risk it all and play on.

They all decided to play on and it meant they would potentially be sharing the pot of money between 12 of them.

However, only two ended up getting the question right - with the answer being E - and thus splitting the prize between them. It meant each of them bagged a whopping £47,500 to take home and spend with how they wish.

Last week on the show, Daniel O’Halloran, 24, impressed with his performance and won an incredible £99,000. He admitted that he "lost control of his body" when he took home the top prize and never in his "wildest dreams" thought he'd win.

He told the Liverpool Echo : "I lost control of my body. I was running around celebrating on stage in total shock. I never thought I’d be standing there on the show, let alone winning it. I was quite confident in getting to the latter stages of the show, but I never in my wildest dreams imagined taking home that much money.

"I thought if I got to £10,000 with no money to fall back on, I’d take the £10,000 and wouldn't gamble."

He had to keep it a secret from his family, friends and loved ones for nearly a year before it aired on TV.

"It was very difficult, there were some moments I nearly blurted it out or my family would ask me and I couldn’t keep the smile on my face. I only told my grandma and a few friends. When they were watching it, they couldn’t believe I’d done it. It was the best thing to see. They were in total shock. They couldn’t believe I’d kept it secret," he said.

He had to wait for weeks after the show airs to get his prize money and so it means he will receive it on May 29th.

Speaking to MailOnline, he said: "Even now I don't have the money because it comes in 30 days after the show airs."
