Stanley Tucci has said he lost more than 2 stone whilst undergoing treatment for oral cancer around five years ago.

The actor, now 62 - who's best known for having starred in films such as the Devil Wears Prada - had been diagnosed with cancer on the base of his tongue in around 2018.

He's spoken in the past about subsequently having had radiation treatment and chemotherapy in response, and he's recently confirmed that he is now cancer-free.

Stanley recently opened up about his experience in a new interview, in which he discussed having lost a significant amount of weight and having used a feeding tube.

Stanley spoke about the experience whilst a guest on TODAY's Sunday Sitdown with Willie Geist this month, describing his cancer treatment as "brutal" in the interview.

He told host Willie Geist: "I lost 35 pounds. [...] I couldn't eat. I had a feeding tube for six months and everything tasted like you know what and smelled like you know what."

The actor - whose credits include the Hunger Games film series - added that it took months for him to "finally be able to eat again" and to subsequently taste food "properly".

Stanley has previously said that food taste like "wet cardboard" whilst undergoing treatment and he discussed having used a feeding tube in his book Taste: My Life Through Food, which was released in 2021.

He wrote in it that during treatment he was weak, nauseous and had lost so much weight that he "practically begged to have a feeding tube implanted in [his] stomach."

The actor said that by the time treatment ended he'd lost more than 2 stone and had to feed himself through the tube - initially having protein shakes before other food.

He added in the book that the feeding tube had kept him hydrated during that period too, revealing that drinking water by mouth "burned like battery acid" at the time.

Stanley's diagnosis came less than ten years after the death of his first wife Kate Spath-Tucci. She passed away, aged 47, in 2009 after having been diagnosised with breast cancer.

During their marriage, Stanley and Kate - who got married in 1995 - welcomed three children together. He's a parent to daughter Camilla as well as twins Nicolò and Isabel.

He has since married Felicity Blunt, whom he credits with having supported him through his treatment. He recently said that Felicity - whom he married in 2012 - is "incredible."

They welcomed their son Matteo in 2015 and their daughter Emilia arrived three years later in 2018, with her understood to have been born during Stanley's cancer treatment.
