Two women have gone viral after approaching a random man to ask if he would like to go on a date with them, but failing to recognise he is a famous Love Actually star.

YouTuber Ruby Hexx and her friend Ivy Fox were filming themselves taking part in a popular TikTok trend where they ask strangers if they would rather have $100 (£80) or go on a date with them both.

In the clip, the pair run after actor Thomas Brodie-Sangster and ask him: "Excuse me, would you rather $100 or a date with us two?"

The 32-year-old, who played Sam in Love Actually, replied: "Oh, I'm in a relationship so I'd take the $100. No offence."

Thomas is currently dating Elon Musk's ex-wife Talulah Riley after they met on the set of Disney's Pistol.

The girls laughed as they started to walk away, with Thomas shouting after them: "But I'm also English so dollars are no use to me. So I'd have neither."

Ivy Fox said he could have £90 and he jokingly agreed.

Ruby Hexx then seemed to recognise Thomas and asked: "Just out of interest, are you an actor?"

"I am an actor," he replied.

However, she appeared to confuse him with actor Skandar Keynes as she asked: "Did you do The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe?"

Thomas politely replied: "No. I went to the premiere but I wasn't in it."

Sharing the exchange on TikTok, Ruby wrote: "He was so sweet, I hope his gf sees this!"

Fans were shocked that the pair didn't recognise Thomas, with one person commenting: "How they just bump into him like that and not notice who he is."

Another said: "Just casually went up to him and named the wrong film," with crying laughing emojis.

"No way you met Ferb in the street and didn't recognize him," a third fan wrote, referencing his voice role in Disney's Phineas and Ferb.
