The 1% Club returned to ITV on Saturday as viewers at home joined in with Lee Mack and the game show's contestants but some viewers weren't happy with one element of the show.

The show’s format sees 100 contestants begin every show - but to make it to the end and win the top prize of up to £100,000, contestants must correctly answer a question only 1% of the country would get right.

Each contestant starts with £1000 but an incorrect answer knocks them out of the game and their grand goes into the Prize Pot.

On Saturday night, viewers of the prime-time show, currently on air in its second run, urged ITV bosses to make the images in the picture round bigger.

Last year, fans complained the size of the question font was too small and when the second series aired, viewers were pleased to see their concerns had been listened to.

However, some viewers admitted they were still struggling with the questions as one tweeted: "They say the graphics are bigger than the previous series but I still have to lean forward and squint and I'm wearing my glasses! #The1PercentClub."

Another added: "I will repeat what I said during the last series of … #The1PercentClub @ITV MAKE THE B****Y PICTURES BIGGER!!! Thank you," while a third said: "#The1PercentClub Easy questions so far. Though they should make the picture ones bigger. Can't see them properly half the time and that's where I fail. You need a giant TV either that or I need specs."

"Doh couldn't see the Happy Birthday score on my mobile. Pictures too small #The1percentclub," someone else shared.

Meanwhile, the ITV game show has been renewed for a third series and there will be two Christmas specials planned for this year and 2024, ITV has announced.

The second series of the quiz show recently launched ahead of the average for its schedule slot with 3.7 million viewers and a 31 per cent audience share.

Host Lee said: “Once again I am delighted to cause household arguments, as kids mock their parents for being not as bright as them. But us grown-ups can stay out as late as we want, so we get the last laugh”

ITV commissioning editor Satmohan Panesar said: “Establishing a new game show and finding an audience is no easy task in such a competitive field, but the combination of the 1% Club's unique, inclusive format and our host Lee's brilliantly spontaneous interaction with the studio audience has proved a big hit with viewers. As the current series continues in its successful run, we're excited to be able to announce a third new series as well as two Christmas specials which we're sure will be a massively entertaining addition to festive telly for all the family.”
