Manchester City will need to pick themselves up again after a horrific week which saw them let another chance to close the gap on Arsenal slip through their fingers before being hit with over 100 Premier League charges.

Pep Guardiola's side remain five points adrift of the Gunners at the top of the table, with their rivals boasting a game in hand. Despite Arsenal's defeat to Everton last Saturday, City were unable to capitalise as they suffered a narrow defeat to Tottenham - courtesy of former transfer target Harry Kane's record-breaking winner.

The following day the Premier League charged City with breaching over 100 financial rules with potentially far-reaching consequences of relegation or expulsion from the division, if the club is found guilty. It almost makes this weekend's clash with Aston Villa seem trivial, but it's business as usual for Guardiola's team if they are to stand any chance of lifting the title in May.

Here's all you need to know about the match.

When is Man City vs Aston Villa?

The two sides will meet in the primetime clash at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday February 12 with kick-off set for 4:30pm.

In what is perhaps a bad omen for Guardiola, his City side have already dropped points against Villa this season, drawing the previous clash between them back in September. Erling Haaland had opened the scoring that day at Villa Park, only for Leon Bailey to rescue a point for the hosts.

A lot has changed for Villa since, with Unai Emery now in the dugout instead of Steven Gerrard. In an even worse omen for Emery, he has never beaten Guardiola in 12 attempts, losing eight times and drawing on four occasions.

What channel is it on?

As ever for a Super Sunday showdown, Sky Sports are the place to go for the fixture with the game being broadcast on their Main Event and Premier League channels as coverage gets underway at 4pm, following Leeds' clash with Manchester United.

Subscribers can also stream the fixture via the Sky Go app.

Team news

Guardiola sprang a surprise with his team selection against Tottenham last weekend by leaving Kevin De Bruyne out of his starting lineup for tactical reasons. Whether the Belgian starts against Villa after his manager's plan backfired remains to be seen, but Phil Foden could also be in contention after missing the fixture due to illness.

Defender John Stones is still ruled out with a thigh injury, while Erling Haaland will be hoping to answer any doubters following his struggles against Spurs.

Villa have no new injury concerns, with Diego Carlos, Ryan Bertrand and Jed Steer still all unavailable but each nearing their respective returns.
