Furious diner dubbed 'cheapskate' for refusing to pay extra share of group bill
A diner who regularly orders less than her friends on account of her 'food restrictions' has been left raging after she was dubbed a 'cheapskate' for refusing to split the bill.
The woman normally pays separately from her pals, who split the cost of dishes they've shared together, with no problem.
But on a recent outing, a new addition to the group criticised her behaviour.
Instead of accepting her wishes - to cover the cost of what she ate - the diner insisted she must 'pay [her] share like everyone else'.
To make matters worse, he then became annoyed and started shouting when she didn't cough up the cash.

'Flustered', she paid her bill but refused to cover the extra share, and left.
After the event, she then took to Reddit keen to find out whether she had been in the wrong in the situation.
Posting to 'Am I the A****e?", the woman explained: "I've been part of the same group since secondary school and now in our early 30s we still meet up regularly.
"I'm the only one who doesn't drink and I also have some food restrictions. This means that my meal is always the cheapest option and I very rarely share a plate with the others even if everyone else is eating sharing style.
"So for years I've always had a separate bill, and then the group evenly splits the remainder. It was suggested by a friend years ago and nobody has ever made an issue."
However, trouble arose when a newcomer - one of her friend's boyfriends - questioned the arrangement.
"When the bill came and my part was separated out Aaron started getting annoyed and told me to stop being a cheapskate and pay my share like everyone else," the woman recounted.
"I tried to explain but he just dug his heels in and got yelly and called me tight-fisted and selfish. I got flustered and paid my bill and left." She concluded by asking commenters if she ought not to ask for a separate bill.
However, responders were quick to reassure her they saw nothing wrong with her decision.
"NTA. People who don't drink should not have to subsidize those who do," one person wrote.

Another put: "NTA splitting bills evenly only works when people order similar things."
Meanwhile, someone revealed: "NTA. The Aarons of the world are the reason I dislike splitting the cheque evenly."
