A naturist has revealed that he will be exhibiting his own crown jewels during the King’s Coronation as the Royal event falls on an important date in naturists’ calendars.

As well as being the Coronation of King Charles III, Saturday, May 6 also happens to be World Naked Gardening Day.

Naturist Stuart Haywood, from Swadlincote, South Derbyshire, says he will be celebrating both momentous events in the only way he knows how, in his birthday suit.

As a keen gardener and a fan of Royal pageantry the 86-year-old said he will be marking both events at the same time, Staffordshire Live reports.

"While the Royal Couple are exhibiting the Royal Jewels their subjects can exhibit the Family Jewels,” explained the cheeky pensioner.

“I will be watching it naked. I have already started preparing for the event as I missed the last one because I was delivering the Burton Daily Mail that day,” he added.

“I have dusted down mine in readiness. Particular emphasis has been put on displaying my orbs to perfection and my sceptre is looking good. I have only to give nooks and crannies a final polish."

Mr Haywood only started stripping off at the age of 72 in 2008 and quickly developed a taste for going nude. Before this, the only person he had been naked in front of for more than 50 years was his wife Rhona.

The retired accountant and greengrocer said he first started stripping off when he attended a life drawing class in Swadlincote in 2008 and thought 'I can do that'. He has never looked back.

Mr Haywood says "you're never too old to be naked and should never be ashamed of your body".

He says he is never embarrassed to be naked in front of other like-minded people and spending his holiday without wearing any clothes lifts his spirits.

There is little difference between Nudism and Naturism, which Mr Haywood practices; both are ways of practicing non-sexual social nudity in private or in public.

But depending on who you ask there can be a subtle distinction, where nudism emphasises the practice of nudity, meanwhile naturism highlights an attitude favouring harmony with nature and respect for the environment, while also wearing no clothes.
