Javelin coach 'sexually abused student', 17, after inviting him to home at 2am
A javelin coach has been charged with sexually assaulting a 17-year-old boy she coached and even told police they were romantically involved, prosecutors have said.
Hannah Marth, 26, was arrested over accusations she had sex with a track and field athlete at Northampton Area High School in Pennsylvania.
Marth, who also taught at a local school, allegedly sent the victim a text at 2am in May 2021 and invited him over to her home where they had sex, the district attorney said.
She was the javelin coach and the boy an active member of the track and field program.
The prosecutors said Marth had confessed she and the student were romantically involved. The victim told police the two were in a relationship until October 2022.

District Attorney Terence Houck said: “A trusted relationship between a student-athlete, an athlete’s parent, and a coach can be a vulnerable one.
“An abuse of that relationship shows a coach’s blatant disregard for the well-being of those she or he coached, and above all — the law.
“This defendant defied that trust when she committed this alleged crime against the victim.”
Marth is also a teacher in the Easton Area School District.
Superintendent David Piperato said in a statement the district was informed of the arrest by the district attorney’s office, reports The Morning Call.
“As a practice, the school district does not comment on ongoing criminal matters or personnel matters,” he said. “However, the school district intends to cooperate fully with the authorities in this matter and will take all necessary action to ensure the safety of our students.”
She was reportedly arraigned Thursday afternoon and freed on $75,000 unsecured bail.
In October a teaching assistant allegedly had sex with a student just two weeks after starting a new job at a high school.
Ashley Waffle, 22, from Granite, Oklahoma, had recently landed a temporary role working for Granite Public Schools on October 10 when she allegedly started to message a 16-year-old boy on Snapchat.

Authorities were soon alerted after the town, which has less than 2,000 people, started hearing rumours of the pair talking to each other after the boy was invited round to her apartment.
According to police, Ms Waffle had sex with the teenager twice at her flat around November 9.
The teaching assistant was sacked from her job on November 10 and faces two charges of second-degree rape which could see her in prison for up to 15 years.
