Amanda Bynes has been released from hospital after she spent more than three weeks under a psychiatric hold, according to reports.

The 36-year-old actress was admitted to the psychiatric care facility after she was found wandering the streets naked and alone.

She was seen walking near downtown Los Angeles late last month.

Amanda reportedly flagged down a passing car and told the driver that she was " coming down from a psychotic episode", before calling 911 for herself.

She was then taken to a nearby police station, where a mental health team decided to place her on a 5150 psychiatric hold.

The insider told TMZ that both Amanda and the medical staff are happy that she is "ready to get back to her day-to-day life".

The actress will now start outpatient treatment and will work with doctors and specialists to get the help she needs going forward.

The source said Amanda will live in her own home and keep much of the independence she gained after her nine-year conservatorship came to an end.

It has been reported that her parents are not looking to put her under another conservatorship following her release.

Amanda's stay in hospital came after she was forced to pull out of the All That reunion as she had an "unknown illness".

She was meant to appear at 90s Con last weekend but had to cancel last minute.

The event would have been Amanda's first public appearance since the end of herconservatorship.

She was placed under a conservatorship in 2013 when she was struggling with her mental health and it came to an end in 2022.

After she regained her personal freedom, she released a statement via her lawyer David A. Esquibias.

"In the last several years, I have been working hard to improve my health so that I can live and work independently, and I will continue to prioritise my well-being in this next chapter," the statement read.

"I am excited about my upcoming endeavours — including my fragrance line — and look forward to sharing more when I can."
