Fergie opens up on promise she made to the late Queen before she died
Sarah Ferguson has opened up on a profound promise that she made to the late Queen before she died.
The Duchess of York appeared on ITV's Loose Women last week, where she discussed how she still misses the former monarch.
She said: "Her Majesty was an incredible head of state, an incredible mother-in-law and an incredible friend.
"For me to be able to call her that was the greatest honour in my life. I used to have to pinch myself when I was sitting with her and asking her advice.
"Her door always remained open to me and we saw a lot of each other right up to the end, for which I will always be grateful. I miss her more than words can express."

The Duchess of York and Queen Elizabeth II in London in 1990 (Getty Images)Recalling a promise that she made to the late Queen before her death in September last year, she said: "I said to her before she died, I will be there with him [Prince Andrew], I will help him on his journey.
"We’ve all got journeys. Just need to be there with kindness, no judgement and I will because he deserves it."
Fergie also spoke about her support for her former husband, adding: “We’re longer divorced than married and I believe in the three C’s, I found out that Walt Disney actually said there were five C’s but I say three C’s - communicate, compromise, compassion - and that’s what I do with him.
"We get on because in the darkest time of my life, he was always there for me and in the darkest part of his life, I will be there for him and the Queen of England was there for him, his mum."

The duchess - who shares daughters Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice with Prince Andrew - said she has other plans for the big day, and isn't sure she will be invited to attend the ceremony in person.
Instead, she wants to take the late Queen's corgis with her to a nearby nursing home and plans to celebrate with them, putting bunting up and turning it into a big party.
She previously said of the pets: "I really love when I'm with them actually, I really think about HM and I just think about the value system she supported in this country and how the nation mourns her.

Recently, Fergie has also spoken of her support for the King and Camilla, who will be dropping the Consort part of her title when the Coronation takes place - something which Sarah is glad to see happen.

She told OK! Magazine: "I have known both the King and the Queen Consort since I was a child.
"I think if you look at the King's track record in areas like the environment, where he was decades ahead of his time, and the Prince's Trust, it's clear what an extraordinary man he is and how fortunate we are to have him on the throne."
She added: "I also admire the way the Queen Consort has worked tirelessly in areas like literacy and domestic violence."
