A number of puzzlers have been left baffled by an optical illusion that is said to reveal whether or not you're a genius. The brainteaser in question shows a deer hiding from hunters in the forest, but only two per cent of people will be able to spot the creature in 13 seconds or under.

According to the description of this puzzle: "Two hunters have been hunting a deer. It showed up in the woods before and then suddenly disappeared. The hunters ran after it but lost it. However, the deer isn't far away. Can you find it?"

You can have a crack at the brainsteaser for yourself below:

This puzzle was shared by the website Jagran Josh, which claims that individuals who find the hidden deer in just 13 seconds or under could well have "extraordinary intelligence".

Don't worry if it's taken you a bit longer than 13 seconds, however. Just have a look back and try again before reading on. After all, we can't all be geniuses.

Ready to see if you were right? Have a look at the pic below, where the deer has been circled:

It's a bit tricky to spot the deer straight away, as it's been well camouflaged amid the branches of one of the trees on the right-hand side of the picture. As with many similar illusions, colours and patterns can trick our brains into seeing a very different image than the one that's actually there.

If you look closely, however, it becomes apparent that two of what first appear to be branches are in fact a pair of antlers, with the clever deer having concealed itself behind the trunk of a tree.

Don't despair if it took you a little longer to get this one. It takes a while to become a top puzzler, and the more you practice, the better you'll get.
